HopeWorks Retail
In 1999, an endeavor involving The Counseling Center, Inc., of Portsmouth and the Scioto County Department of Job and Family Services was born. It is an innovative and dynamic workforce development project, which gives recovering clients an opportunity to participate in an extended treatment program while combining real work experience and training.
HopeWorks is a retail store with the focus of the work experience on creation, customization and production of t-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, mouse pads and other small items through the process of screen printing, thermography and embroidery. In addition, the store offers printing services.
The fundamentals required for long-term recovery/abstinence from alcohol and drugs are also the very disciplines needed to acquire job and living skills.
